Lord, I come to you at the start of this day with one honest wish. I want to be kinder today than I was yesterday. I don't want to pretend that yesterday went well. God, I know I fell short yesterday. I won't hide that from you. Today, open my eyes to the small moments where I can choose patience. Slow my tongue when I want to snap. Soften my voice when I feel hurried. Show me practical ways to be kind to the people in front of me, and give me the wisdom to see them. Your word says in Luke 6:31, “as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them”. Lord, let that word shape how I treat each person I meet today, and make me patient and gentle. Help me to name where I was wrong without sinking into shame. Give me an honest humility that can say sorry plainly. Where it is right to make amends, give me courage to do it gently and not put it off. Where I need to receive your forgiveness, help me to receive it and not carry it like a stone. And in Romans 8:1 your word says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus”. Lord, let that truth steady me, so I can face where I was wrong with honesty and without shame. Thank you for hearing me, Lord. I set this day in your hands. Make me patient, gentle, and honest, one moment at a time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
