About Prayer Pew
Prayer can be hardest when the words will not come. Prayer Pew helps you turn what you are carrying into a personal prayer, with Scripture you can read in context and a voice you can return to.
It is a Christian prayer companion made by a small team in South London, available on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android.
Why it exists
Wanting to pray and knowing what to say are not the same thing. A person may know only that they are anxious, grateful, angry, grieving, hopeful, or carrying too much at once. Prayer Pew begins there, in ordinary words.
The aim is not to make prayer impressive. It is to help someone slow down, see the needs they are bringing to God, find relevant Scripture, and begin.
What it helps you do
Share what is on your heart in plain language. Check and change the prayer points and Scripture before anything is written. Then read the finished prayer or hear it aloud.
Prayer Pew also offers a daily prayer, prayers for particular situations, and a public Open Pew feed. The same product is available across web and mobile, while an account remains optional for the core personal prayer.
Who makes it
Prayer Pew is made and maintained by a small team in South London. We publish as Prayer Pew and as The Prayer Pew team. We do not attach invented pastors, chaplains, theologians, or experts to work they did not write.
AI helps produce parts of the product and its public writing. We say how that works, what is checked, and what the checks cannot prove on our how we write page.
Where it stops
Prayer Pew can help with words. It does not carry spiritual authority. It is not a pastor, a church, spiritual direction, counselling, or crisis support, and a generated prayer can be incomplete or wrong.
Read every prayer with discernment. Read its passages in context. Keep close to your church and to people who know you, and seek qualified help when a situation needs more than a prayer app can give.
