Lord, I have been busy enough to avoid thinking, and I want to stop avoiding it. Lord, help me stop avoiding and start facing this with your gentle honesty. I bring myself before you now, tired and full, longing for real rest and real truth rather than more distraction. Lord, I do not want to keep running from what I have been avoiding, or from myself. Help me to look at it with honesty and gentleness, without harshness. Give me courage to acknowledge what I actually feel, the weariness, the sadness, the uncertainty, without judging myself for having any of it. Let me be as honest with you as I would be with someone I trust completely. As we hear in Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace”. So I draw near now, not in fear but in trust, asking for mercy in this honest moment. As I begin to turn toward what I have avoided, I do not ask for everything to become clear at once. Give me clarity for one faithful, manageable next step, something small enough to actually take, gentle enough to bear, and honest enough to matter. Walk with me as I move, even slowly. And in Colossians 3:12 we hear, “a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering”. Clothe me with that same patience and kindness toward myself as I take this small step. Thank you for meeting my honesty with mercy and my weariness with patience. I trust you to steady me as I take this one step, and the next, in your grace rather than my own strength. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
