Lord, you know what I said, and you know I regret it. I do not want to hide behind reasons. I want to put it right, and I need your help. Father, I name it before you without excuses. What I said was wrong, and it carries weight. Keep me from defending myself or making it smaller than it was. Give me clear, honest words to own it, and a humble heart to take responsibility. Your word says in Psalm 51:3, “I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me”. Lord, have mercy, and keep this honestly before you. Teach a clear and truthful confession, free of excuses. Give me wisdom about how and when to go to them. Help me respect their feelings and their boundaries, even if they need space or time. Let my words be good and not careless. Whatever comes of it, give me strength to accept what I cannot control. Keep me open to forgiveness, and to changing the way I speak. And in Matthew 5:24 your word says, “first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift”. Lord, lead with wisdom and gentleness toward repair, and let it be done with respect for the other person. Merciful God, thank you that I can come to you without pretending. Help me put it right, and not explain it away. In Jesus’ name, amen.
