Lord, today looks completely ordinary, and I want to be here for it. So often my mind runs ahead or drifts somewhere else, and I come to you just as I am. Help me notice and receive the small moments of this day instead of being pulled away from them. Slow me down enough to see the people and details around me. Give me steadiness to attend to what is in front of me, and openness to whoever and whatever you place near me. Let the words I speak and the things I do today be offered with a settled heart. Your word says in Colossians 3:17, “whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed”. Lord, make this word true in the plain tasks of today, and steady attention in this heart where you have placed it. I thank you for this day, just as it is. It does not need to become extraordinary to be a gift from you. Let gratitude rise in me gently, in small things, a voice, a task, a breath. When I am tempted to wait for something bigger, remind me that you are already giving. And in Psalm 65:11 your word says, “Thou crownest the year with thy goodness”. Thank you, Lord, for goodness that meets us in plain days. Teach this heart to receive today with open hands. Lord, help me be fully here today. When I drift, gently bring me back. In Jesus’ name, amen.
