Lord, I come to you tired. All week I have been comparing myself to other people, and it has made me feel smaller than I am. I do not want to hide that from you. Father, this has been wearing. I keep measuring myself and I keep coming up short. Thank you that you are not measuring me the way I have been. Help me notice each comparison as it rises, and help me hand it to you instead of carrying it. Give me wisdom to tell the difference between learning from others and shrinking beside them. Your word says in Romans 12:2, “be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind”. Lord, renew the mind here, and loosen every measuring line that has shrunk this heart. Lord, I want a steady sense of my worth, one that does not rise and fall with how I measure up. Teach me to see myself with honest, grounded eyes. Let gratitude and gladness gather slowly, without pretending this week was not heavy. I am held by you, and I do not have to measure up. And in Romans 8:1 your word says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.” Lord, let this be the ground that holds steady, deeper than any comparison and any sense of falling short. Thank you for hearing me, Lord. Walk with me into the days ahead, and keep steadying me whenever the old comparing returns. In Jesus’ name, amen.
