Lord, you are the giver of every good gift, present in every place I walk, even the ones I pass through without noticing. I come before you aware that I have received more than I have counted, more grace, more care, more provision than I have paused to see. Forgive me for the days I moved too fast to notice you were there. So often I have stood in a place of blessing and not known it, caught up in worry or hurry, forgetting the hand that fed me, guided me, and kept me safe. Open my eyes to see what you have already given, the people, the provision, the small mercies stacked up behind me like stones I never stopped to count. Teach me not to forget you in the fullness of an ordinary day. As we hear in Genesis 28:16, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I didn’t know it.” Lord, let that same surprised recognition rise in me, awaken me to your presence in the place I already stand. Give me the wisdom to slow down long enough to notice what is in front of me, and the honesty to call it gift rather than accident or achievement. Let gratitude become a habit and not just a passing feeling, something that shapes how I speak, how I rest, and how I see the people around me. Teach me to receive each good thing with an open and thankful heart. And in Ecclesiastes 3:13 we hear, “enjoy good in all his labour, is the gift of God”. Lord, receive my thanks for this, help me hold each good thing as gift rather than something owed to me. I trust that your grace has been at work in my life long before I learned to look for it, and that it will keep meeting me in the ordinary places I might otherwise overlook. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
