God, I want to be kinder today than I was yesterday. I bring you the ordinary hours ahead, the small conversations and quick moments where my patience runs thin. Meet me here. Clothe me with kindness today. Help me notice the moments that call for patience instead of irritation, gentleness instead of a sharp word. When someone is difficult or slow or simply human, let love be patient in me and let it be kind, not envious, not keeping score. I cannot manufacture this on my own, so I ask you to shape it in me as the day unfolds. Your word says in Colossians 3:12, “a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance”. Clothe me with that same heart today, Lord; let it shape the way I respond to the people in front of me. I can be honest with you about yesterday. I was short when I could have been soft, quick to react when I could have paused. I do not want to hide from that, but I also do not want to stay stuck in shame over it. Give me the strength to choose differently today, one moment at a time, without pretending yesterday did not happen and without letting it define me. And in Romans 8:1 your word says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus”. Thank you that I do not have to carry shame for yesterday; let that truth free me to try again today. Thank you for meeting me in the ordinary, unglamorous work of becoming kinder. Walk with me through today, and let whatever grows in me be gentle and real. In Jesus’ name, amen.
