Lord, I come to you today with very little feeling stirring in me. My prayers feel flat, my words feel thin, and still I do not want to stop reaching toward you. I bring that honestly rather than pretending otherwise. You already know what I need before I even find the words for it, so I do not have to perform for you or dress up my emptiness to make it acceptable. I will keep coming to you, even when I feel nothing, because coming honestly matters more to me than coming impressively. When my heart feels dry and far from you, let me still bring it, the way a heavy heart is still brought to you in the night, even when there is no song left to sing. Your word says in Psalm 42:8, “In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life.” Even in a quiet night like this, let that be my prayer to you, the God of my life. Give me patience for a simple rhythm I can actually keep, one that fits the capacity I have right now rather than the capacity I wish I had. Let this quiet season not be read as failure or as proof that you have moved away from me. Teach me to wait well, without rushing to manufacture feelings I do not have, trusting that quiet waiting is not wasted time in your eyes. And in Lamentations 3:26 your word says, “It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait”. So let me hope quietly here, Lord, trusting you in this waiting rather than fighting against it. So I keep going, not because I feel strong, but because I still want you. Meet me in the plainness of this, Lord, and hold me steady through it. In Jesus’ name, amen.
