Lord, I do not want to just get through today on my own. I want to meet with you, really meet with you, right here at the start of it. I bring myself honestly before you, whatever is stirring in me, and I ask you to make yourself known. I confess how easy it is to treat today like a weight I have to carry by myself, working things out in my own strength before I even think to turn to you. So I come now, not with polish but with honesty, asking you to meet me exactly where I am. Your word says in Hebrews 4:16, “Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace”. So I come boldly, Lord, not because I have earned it but because you have invited me. Meet me here. Keep me from rushing past you today. Open my ears and my attention so I notice your wisdom in the small moments, not just the big ones. I do not want to carry today alone, I want to walk through it leaning on you, watching for you, willing to be led rather than insisting on my own way. And in Philippians 2:13 your word says, “For it is God who works in you both to will and to work”. It is you at work in me, Lord, so I release my grip and let you lead this day. Thank you for meeting me even now. Whatever today holds, I want to walk through it with you rather than around you. Steady my heart, sharpen my attention, and let your nearness be more real to me than my own effort. In Jesus’ name, amen.
