Lord, today I will see people who are hard for me, and I do not want to be smaller than I could be with them. I bring this day to you before it begins, asking you to walk through it with me. Give me a steady heart as I meet them, one that does not pretend this is easy but still chooses kindness and patience. Help me speak honestly and with measured words, and to hold clear boundaries without losing compassion. I want to treat each person with the dignity I would want shown to myself, even when it is hard. Your word says in Colossians 3:12, “a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance”. Clothe me in that same compassion and patience now, Lord, even before I walk into the room. When it would be easier to perform or react out of fear, give me the courage to act from what I actually believe. Let me stay true rather than shrink, even under pressure or discomfort. I do not want to bend away from the truth just to keep the peace, but to remain who you have shaped me to be in every interaction today. And in Galatians 2:14 your word says, “when I saw that they didn’t walk uprightly according to the truth”. Keep me walking uprightly according to the truth today, even when it costs me something. Whatever this day holds, walk with me through it. I do not want to be smaller than I could be with them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
