Lord, this week I have shrunk myself by looking sideways instead of up. I have measured my life against other people until I felt smaller than I am, and I am tired from carrying that weight. I bring that weariness to you now, honestly, without pretending it away. You made me, and I belong to you, not to whatever I compare myself against. I ask you to loosen comparison's grip on me and give me a settled sense of worth that does not rise or fall with someone else's life. Help me see the good that is actually in front of me, the small mercies of today, and receive them as truly mine without needing them to outshine anyone else's. Your word says in Psalm 100:3, “It is he who has made us, and we are his”. You say this is who I am, Lord, made by you and held by you; let that truth settle deeper than any comparison ever could. When comparison rises again this week, as it likely will, meet me there. Give me honesty to notice it without shame, gentleness toward myself in that moment, and renewed attention to my own path rather than someone else's. I do not need to be strong on my own; I need your strength to hold me steady. And in 2 Corinthians 12:9 your word says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”. When I feel weak against comparison, let your strength be enough for me, Lord, right where I am weak. Thank you for staying near me in this, even in a week that made me feel small. Grow in me a worth that rests in you and a contentment that can notice its own good. In Jesus' name In Jesus’ name, amen.
