Lord, I come to you with something heavy on my heart. I said something I regret, and I know it caused hurt. I do not want to explain it away or make it smaller than it was. Help me put this right, not explain it away. Father, give me the courage to see my words clearly, without excuses and without shifting blame. Let me name what I did honestly before you, the way David did when his own sin weighed on him. I do not want to defend myself. I want to be truthful, even when it is uncomfortable. Search my heart and help me see it as it really is. Your word says in Psalm 51:3, “For I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me.” Lord, keep me honest before you. Help me see clearly and not soften what I did. Lord, show me a sincere way to make amends. Give me wisdom to choose words that take real responsibility, not words that just smooth things over. I want to go to the person I hurt with an honest apology, not a performance. And when I have done what is mine to do, help me to be patient. Let me respect their response, whatever it is and however long it takes, without pushing for quick resolution. Give me grace to forgive as I hope to be forgiven, and grace to wait well. And in Colossians 3:13 your word says, “forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any”. Grace me to forgive as I hope to be forgiven, and give me patience for whatever comes next. Lord, walk with me as I try to make this right. Steady my heart, soften my pride, and give me patience for whatever comes next. Thank you for meeting me here. In Jesus’ name, amen.
