Lord God, you see my full day and how much sits in front of me. I come to you honestly, tired and unsure where to begin. Lord, I have more to do today than I can do well. Show me which tasks deserve my attention and which can wait or be set down. Steady my mind so that I choose with a clear head and not in a rush. Make level the path in front of me, and help me take one task at a time. As we hear in Matthew 6:34, “Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself.” Lord, teach us to leave tomorrow in your hands, and give us clear sight for what this day asks. Merciful God, you know my limits better than I do. Forgive me when I try to carry more than I can. Help me choose a manageable way forward, and give me grace to do what is mine to do today and leave the rest. Be with me in my weariness, and let me work with a quieter heart, trusting in your mercy. And in Psalm 127:2 we hear, “It is vain for you to rise up early, To take rest late”. Lord, loosen the grip of striving, and teach us to work within the limits you know and to rest in your care. Lord Jesus, you are patient with me in my weariness. Guide my choices today and hold me in your grace. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
