Lord, today I don't want to just get through the hours on my own strength. I want to meet with you, really meet with you, in the middle of this ordinary day. So I come to you now, asking you to make me aware of your presence. Father, I ask for an attentive awareness of you today, not a vague sense that you exist somewhere far off, but a real nearness. Help me notice you in the small moments, in the quiet, in the noise. I don't want to walk through today unaccompanied when you have already invited me close. Your word says in Hebrews 4:16, “Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace.” So I come boldly, Lord, not hiding, not hesitant, trusting that you welcome me near today. Lord, I confess I often try to carry today by myself, leaning on my own effort as if it were enough. Help me entrust this day to you instead. I bring my own weakness, help me depend, not perform. Give me the humility to ask for your help rather than pretend I don't need it, and give me the courage to trust you with what I cannot control. And in Philippians 2:13 your word says, “it is God who works in you both to will and to work.” So work in me, Lord, the willing and the doing, because I know I cannot do this alone. So meet me here, Lord, in this ordinary day. I don't want to just get through it on my own; I want to meet with you. In Jesus' name, amen.
