Lord, I come to you honest about something I said that I regret. I do not want to explain it away or make it smaller than it was. I want to be truthful with myself, with you, and with the person I hurt. God, help me name my words plainly, without softening them or shifting the blame. I do not want excuses. I want to see clearly what I said and how it landed. I bring this to you honestly, asking for your forgiveness and for the courage to stop protecting my own pride. Your word says in Isaiah 1:18, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” Lord, I stand on that mercy. Wash what I said clean and give me a truthful, humble heart. Give me wisdom for what comes next. Show me how to offer an apology that is honest and specific, not vague or self-serving. Help me take responsibility for the effect my words had, even if it is uncomfortable. I want to repair this well, in a way that actually helps rather than just easing my own guilt. And in Matthew 5:24 your word says, “First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Lord, guide me to go first, to seek peace before anything else, with a willing and open heart. Lord, I cannot undo what was said, but I can bring it to you and try to make it right. Steady my heart as I do this. Give me humility and honesty in equal measure. In Jesus’ name, amen.
