Lord, something good happened today and I noticed it. I don't want to let it slip past me unnoticed or unspoken, so before I forget, I want to say thank you. Help me hold my attention on what you gave me today instead of rushing past it. So often good things come and go before I've even registered them as gifts. Slow me down now, Lord, and let this one land. Let me really see it, really receive it, and let it settle into my memory instead of dissolving into the noise of the day. Your word says in Psalm 103:2, “Praise the LORD, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits.” Praise you, Lord, for this, and help my soul not forget your goodness to me today. Give me honest words for this, Lord, nothing more than what I've actually received. I don't want to inflate it or explain it away, just to say plainly that you were good to me and I noticed. I don't want to forget this gift, Lord. Let this small thanks be real, whole, and enough. And in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 your word says, “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” I bring this thanks to you now, Lord, right in the middle of an ordinary day. Thank you, Lord, for this good thing. Keep my eyes open for the next one, and keep my heart quick to notice and quick to thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
