Lord, here I am again, at the same starting line I have stood at before. I do not want to start this day by tearing myself down for needing to start again. I bring you the truth of it, plainly, and I ask you to meet me here. I know this struggle. I keep meaning to do what is good and finding myself back where I started. I am tired of the cycle, and tired of the shame that follows it. But I do not want shame to be what greets me this morning. Let this be a beginning met with mercy, not self-contempt. Even when what shows on the outside feels worn down and repetitive, I ask you to keep something in me being renewed, quietly, day by day, in ways I cannot always see or measure. Your word says in Romans 7:25, “I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.” Even here, in this tangled struggle, I choose to thank you rather than shrink from you. Give me strength for the ordinary, unglamorous work of taking one faithful step, and then another, when the same struggle circles back around. I do not need everything to change today. I need enough grace to keep going without giving up on myself. Let my hope stay honest, grounded in you rather than in how quickly I can fix myself, willing to wait without demanding instant proof that anything has moved. And in Romans 8:25 your word says, “if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.” I set my hope in you, Lord, and I ask for patience to wait without rushing what only you can finish. Thank you for meeting me here again, patient with me even when I am not patient with myself. Walk with me into today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
