Lord, I come to you tired in a way that sleep has not fixed, and I will not pretend otherwise. You already know how deep this goes, so I name it plainly here with you. God, I am worn through. I have slept, and I am still weary. I do not need to dress this up or make it sound stronger than it is. I bring you the heaviness just as it is, and I ask that you would hold it with me. I do not have to be eloquent for you to hear me. Your word says in Psalm 142:2, “I pour out my complaint before him; I show before him my trouble.” Lord, let that be true of me now. Hear my honest words and stay near me in this weariness. Lord, you never grow tired, and you do not slumber. Meet me in this tiredness. Give me real rest, and let me accept it without guilt, whether that is sleep, food, quiet, or the help of people who care for me. Show me one trusted person I can tell how tired I am. Give me strength for the next small step, and let hope gather in me slowly, without hiding the ache. Thank you that I can be honest with you and still be held. And in Isaiah 40:29 your word says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength.” Lord, be that strength for me where I am faint, and let me rest in your care. Lord, I am tired, and I am here. Stay close to me, and carry what I cannot carry tonight. In Jesus’ name, amen.
