Lord, I come to you tired and honest. I have been going through the motions, and I do not want to pretend otherwise with you. Father, I am weary, and some days you feel far away. I say it plainly because you already know. Thank you that I do not have to dress this up before you. Make room in me for this tiredness without calling it failure. Give me the kind of rest that lets me simply sit with you and stop performing. Your word says in Psalm 13:1, “How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” Lord, hear this honest cry, and meet this weariness with your patient presence and your steady love. Still, I want to mean it again. Thank you that this wanting is already a turning toward you. Bring me near with honest sincerity, one small step at a time. Let my prayers be simple and real rather than polished. Warm what has gone flat, and let gladness gather gently, without forcing it and without hiding the weariness. And in Hebrews 10:22 your word says, “let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith”. Thank you, Lord, for welcoming a tired heart. Draw this heart near with sincerity, one honest step at a time. Lord, I want to mean it again, and you are near. Hold me in this ordinary day, and keep me turned toward you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
