Lord, I come to you just as I am, with very little feeling in me. I am tired of how quiet it is, and I still want to be here with you. God, I do not feel much when I pray right now, and I will not pretend that I do. The quiet is real, and I bring it to you honestly. Thank you that I do not have to make a feeling rise before I can speak to you. My wish to keep praying is itself something I place in your hands. Hold it for me when my words run thin. Teach me to pray when I do not know how. Your word says in Romans 8:26, “the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought”. Lord, I lean on your help in my weakness. Pray in me where I have no words, and hold me as I keep coming to you. Lord, make room in this prayer for the stillness, and let me stop calling it failure. If all I have today is a few plain words, or only sitting here in silence, receive that as enough. Steady me while I wait. Let hope grow slowly and gently, without my forcing it. Thank you that you are near even when I cannot sense you, and that you are patient with me. I choose to stay, and I ask you to keep me. And in Lamentations 3:26 your word says, “It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.” Lord, teach me to wait quietly and with hope. Let this stillness be a place where I rest in you, and not a place of shame. Thank you for listening to a prayer this small and this honest. Keep me turning toward you, one quiet day at a time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
