Lord, I have been going through the motions, and I am tired of how empty it feels. I will not pretend with you. I come as I am, weary and plain, and I thank you that I am allowed to. Father, the words have left my mouth without much of my heart behind them, and that hurts. I bring you the dullness exactly as it is. Lord, meet my honest heart here. Thank you that you do not ask for a performance. Teach me to pray plainly, even if it is one true sentence, and to stop hiding behind routine. Your word says in Psalm 13:5, “But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.” Lord, let your lovingkindness be the ground under every honest word, and let trust and gladness grow again, slowly and truly. Gently renew my desire to pray, to worship, and to trust. Thank you that a small spark is still yours. When my soul feels heavy and unsettled, hold me steady. Give me grace to keep turning toward you, again and again, even when meaningful faith does not return all at once. Let each small turning count, and let hope gather in me slowly and truly. And in 1 Peter 5:10 your word says, “the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ”. God of all grace, steady and strengthen this returning, one honest step after another. Thank you for staying near while I find my way back. I rest in your patience with me today. Lord, meet my honest heart here. In Jesus’ name, amen.
