What Prayer Pew is

You describe a situation. Prayer Pew prepares a short plan grounded in Scripture, writes a prayer from it, and can read that prayer aloud. It is an aid to your own praying, nothing more. Scripture passages come from the World English Bible, British Edition, which is in the public domain.

Asking for prayer on social media

Commenting our keyword on one of our own posts is a request to have a prayer prepared and sent to you privately. It is the same service described above, reached a different way, and everything on this page applies to it. We reply once and we do not start a conversation. If a comment suggests someone may be in danger, we send information about real help rather than a prayer.

We may also reply publicly, under your comment, to comments on our own posts that do not use the keyword. That is a reply and nothing more: it does not create a prayer for you, it never repeats what you wrote, and it never becomes a private message, because you did not ask us for one. We reply under the original comment only, and we do not continue a thread. Where a public comment suggests someone may be in danger we post nothing at all, so that no attention is drawn to them, and a person at Prayer Pew looks at it instead.

What Prayer Pew is not

It is not pastoral counselling, spiritual direction, or a replacement for your church. It is not medical, legal, financial, or crisis support, and it must never stand in for professional help when that is what a situation needs.

The prayers are written by AI

Every plan and prayer is generated by AI models. They can be thin, clumsy, or simply wrong. Read what comes back with discernment, weigh it against Scripture, and set aside anything that does not ring true. A generated prayer carries no authority of its own, and it is no substitute for a pastor or a trusted friend.

Personal narration uses Fish Audio

When personal narration is prepared, Prayer Pew sends the finished prayer text to Fish Audio, operated by Hanabi AI Inc., to create the spoken audio. Fish Audio is an independent third party, not part of Prayer Pew. A finished prayer contains religious content and may include health or wellbeing details. In the mobile app, the transfer cannot begin until you see the disclosure and choose Agree and play; you can choose Not now and keep reading instead.

Fish Audio's own terms and privacy policy apply to its processing. They allow possible retention of the text, use of Usage Data and Content to improve or train AI and machine-learning models, and processing outside your country. Read Fish Audio's terms and privacy policy before agreeing if those uses matter to you.

On the web, ElevenLabs may receive the same finished prayer text to prepare a backup recording if Fish Audio cannot complete the request.

An account is optional

Sharing, planning, generation, playback, and your device library all work without signing in. The words of a guest prayer stay in the browser or app on the device where you made them; its narration audio, and the snapshot behind any link you share, are kept on our servers, as the privacy page sets out. Depending on your device, you can sign in with Apple, Google, or email; signing in adds encrypted backup and access on your other devices. It does not change what a prayer is or whose it is.

Your words stay yours

You keep what you write and what Prayer Pew writes for you. We claim no ownership of your situations, your prayers, or their narration. Prayer Pew uses them to prepare what you requested and operate the service. If you choose personal narration, the separate Fish Audio uses described above also apply; those uses are governed by Fish Audio's own terms and are not limited to Prayer Pew's purposes. Please do not enter someone else’s private details without their blessing.

A sharing link is yours to give

A prayer stays private unless you create a link. Anyone holding an active link can open it without an account, so send it only to people you trust, and know that you cannot control who they pass it on to. You can turn the link off at any time from the original prayer, and the shared page then stops working.

Open Pew is public

A request appears on Open Pew only after you expressly agree to make it public and it passes automated safety screening. Do not include a full name, address, school, workplace, contact detail, account detail, or another person's private information. Choose Anonymous when a name is not needed. Published requests normally expire after 30 days, and you can remove your own request sooner.

By posting, you give Prayer Pew the limited permission needed to screen, store, display, and distribute that request through Open Pew until it is removed or expires. You still own your words. This permission ends when the request is deleted, apart from short-lived backups and the text-free safety records described on the privacy page.

Community standards and moderation

Ask for prayer with honesty and care. Do not post threats, harassment, hate, sexual content, instructions for wrongdoing, advertising, impersonation, or material that exposes somebody's private details. Do not use a prayer request to diagnose, shame, pressure, or target another person. You may report a request and block its author from inside the app.

Automated checks may publish a request, ask you to edit it, hold it safely, or refuse it. We may remove material, restrict posting, or close an account when needed to protect people or operate the service. Automated systems can make mistakes, so you may ask support to review a decision. A request on Open Pew is not monitored in real time and is never a way to contact emergency, medical, legal, safeguarding, or pastoral services.

What we ask of you

Use Prayer Pew for your own praying and for the people you are praying for. Do not use it to harass, deceive, or impersonate anyone, to demean a person or a faith community, to scrape or resell what it produces, or to place automated load on the service. We may limit or end access where that happens.

Availability and changes

Prayer Pew is in early testing. Features may change, pause, or disappear while we build, and a generation can fail. We may update these terms as the product grows; the date below shows when they last changed. If a prayer matters to you, keep your own copy of it.

If something goes wrong

We build this with care, but we cannot promise the service will always be available, always be accurate, or always work the way it does today. It is offered as it is. We are not responsible for decisions you make after reading a generated prayer, for who sees a link you chose to send, or for losses that follow from using the service. Nothing here removes a right the law gives you and does not let us set aside.
